Rockin’ Instagram Stories is simple with our top tips
You don’t need to be a videographer to produce incredible results with Instagram Stories Here are some of our top 5 tips to take your storytelling to the next level. We’ve included a couple of useful tools, some info on using hashtags and where to go get inspiration. Take our word for it, you really do need to check these out.
First up is 2 life-changing apps that will make creating Instagram Stories a breeze. You’ll wonder how you ever existed without them.
We have to pay kudos to the bright spark who invented this Adobe app. It honestly is the easiest way to create a video for your Instagram Stories (BONUS! It’s in a vertical format). It’s super simple to add voiceovers, captions, and effects that will make Stephen Spielberg’s work look amateurish. Okay, maybe that’s a tiny exaggeration, but it really does a great job and best of all it’s FREE to download. You can get started right away. If you love the functionality as much as we do, there’s a premium version that’s relatively affordable. It allows you select fonts and colours consistent with your branding, plus some other really features you can play around with.
Splitting up your videos to fit the Instagram 15-second format is easier than a Sunday morning with the CutStory app. It’s very user-friendly and so straightforward–even the most technophobic person in your family could use it. All you have to do is import the video and it automatically splices it into the correct time-length for Instagram Stories. You can change the duration for other social media networks and everything is stored in chronological order in your gallery. The free version comes with a small watermark, but there’s only a small fee to make it disappear.
You’ve gone to all the effort of creating a video, make sure it gets seen by the masses, using relevant hashtags. Adding hashtags increases your viewing audience is a great way to link all your video content together. You can use up to 11 hashtags for Insta Stories. Hashtags can be placed as a sticker, in text or location which sit on top of the image. However, to avoid them detracting from your video content, you can shrink them and drag them to the side or change the colours to make them blend into the background.
Preview IGTV in Instagram Stories
Hot off the press is one of the newest features we’re really excited about. Instagram has rolled the ability to preview Instagram TV videos through the Stories feature. It allows your followers to view 15-second snippets which seamlessly link to longer versions of the video uploaded to IGTV with a simple tap.
